Sheriff Steve Hiatt is inviting the community to come together for an evening of music, food, and fellowship at a Free Gospel and Bluegrass Singing Event on Saturday, September 6th from 5 pm to 9 pm at The Barn at Blueberry Hill (667 Bert Cockerham Rd, Elkin, NC).
The event will feature outstanding performances from Harrison Ridge, Jonathon Bledsoe, Green Valley Boys & Girls, The Country Boys, and Ben & Eric Marshall. Guests can also enjoy special appearances from The Singing Sheriffs, Sarah and Natalie Marshall, and Jansen Huff.
A selection of delicious food trucks will be on-site, including Cup of Hope, The Kinder Kitchen, BJ’s Fry Shack, and Chill Mobile. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and settle in for a family-friendly night under the stars.
Sheriff Hiatt shared why this event means so much to him:
“Bluegrass and gospel music are a favorite of mine, and I have many friends who are musicians. These styles of music attract a dedicated audience of all ages, and I just thought it would be great if the campaign could sponsor a singing event that highlighted some local talent. I’m looking forward to this family-friendly and community-oriented event. It’s going to be great! I take pride in being able to provide this wholesome evening free to our community.”
This evening is about more than music—it’s about celebrating the strength of community, the power of tradition, and the joy of gathering together. Sheriff Hiatt invites everyone to come and experience the music, fellowship, and community spirit that make Surry County a wonderful place to call home—all at no cost to the community.
