My top priority has always been clear: to make Surry County a safer place to live, work, and raise our families. That mission demands more than words—it requires real action and a clear plan.

Here’s how I intend to get the job done:

Fighting the Drug Crisis

Illegal drugs—especially opioids, fentanyl, and meth—continue to fuel crime and destroy lives. As Sheriff, I will:

• Aggressively target drug manufacturing and trafficking operations.

• Establish a Street Crimes Unit focused on high-traffic areas and drug users, helping reduce related thefts and violent crimes.

• Strengthen partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and first responders to promote prevention, treatment, and enforcement.

  
  

Protecting Families from Domestic Violence

Domestic violence and abuse must be met with swift, decisive action. I will enforce firm department policies and ensure victims receive the protection they need and deserve.

Preventing Identity Theft and Fraud

As these crimes become more common, I’ll prioritize community education and resources to help citizens protect their information—and pursue offenders with full resolve.

Building Stronger Community Connections

Deputies should know the people they serve. I will promote daily, local engagement and foster strong collaboration with surrounding law enforcement agencies to better address community needs.

Supporting Our Officers and Staff

We have an outstanding team at the Sheriff’s Office. I’ll work to:

• Strengthen core divisions like Patrol, Narcotics, Detention, and Transport.

• Improve morale and retention by promoting fair leadership and competitive pay.

• Recruit top candidates and ensure all staff are well-trained and supported.

• Partner with the Board of Commissioners to secure needed resources.

  
  

Enhancing Public Access and Transparency

I’ll expand online services and explore extended office hours to make it easier for citizens to connect with the Sheriff’s Office and access help when needed.
